My experience working at large, fast-paced companies taught me not to settle for good enough. I'd rather strive for excellence than get by on work that was merely adequate or sufficient. I set up my own bookkeeping business because I love variety. Businesses want to hire people who can connect the dots and identify trends. My jack of all trades approach gives me broader knowledge and flexibility so that I can better advise my clients across multiple areas. • Overseeing a departmental budget in excess of $3 million, while simultaneously juggling the responsibilities of managing an endowment, risk management and insurance, and environmental health & safety.
• Reducing budgeted insurance expenses through improved loss forecasting techniques, and competitively bidding broker fees and insurance premiums.
• Leading the effort to convert 200+ legacy reports for financial planning & analysis.
• Serving as the AP/GL lead and data mapping subject matter expert for the replacement of a financial ERP system.
• Installing, configuring, and integrating a new business intake system.
• Implementing a cloud-based expense reimbursement program.
